Dental Implants

Dental implants offer a permanent alternative to missing teeth and unsightly gaps. Dental implants are placed in the jawbone (replicating the natural root structure of a tooth).

Dental Implants are the best option when it comes to replacing missing teeth. The implants are placed into the jaw where they bind to the bone, and replicate natural teeth.

The process of placing the dental implants is quite straight forward, it is done while awake and all we have to do is numb the gum. The whole process is not much different to having a tooth taken out. Everyone we have carried out the procedure on has said that it was surprisingly easy and painless. Once the implants are ready then the teeth can be placed on them.

Dental Implants are a great option for missing teeth. They can be used to replace single missing teeth, many teeth, or even all teeth. They can even be used to stabilise loose dentures where they “lock” the dentures into place so that they don’t move.

Dental implants can improve the appearance of your smile so Instead of laughing with your hand constantly in front of your mouth they help you talk and smile confidently free of any hands, and with straight white teeth in full view.

Eating is also a joy with dental implants as it allows you to bite, chew and eat with no problems and without worrying what you can and can’t eat.
Dr Zakir sees patients’ requiring advanced treatments involving Dental Implants and also complex aesthetic cases.

The range of work which he undertakes includes dental implants – single implants, multiple implants including full mouth and dentures with locators (clips) on implants.

The implant dentures are great to stabilize loose dentures and can usually be made with no palate on the top denture, so they are generally smaller than conventional dentures.

Dr Zakir is a mentor of dentists who are starting off to place dental implants on the ICE Foundation Dental Implants Training Program and is also a Clinical Lecturer of post graduate students on the MSc Dental Implantology program at the University of Edge Hill.
